Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
The short version: Article Light does not collect, store on any server, sell, or share any of your data. Your reading stays on your device.
What the extension does on your device
- When you click the Article Light icon on a page, the extension reads that page in your browser, extracts the article text and images, cleans the result, and shows it in a reader tab.
- The extracted article and your reading settings, like text size and theme, are saved only in your browser storage on your device, so the reader tab can open and your settings can be remembered.
- Only your most recent article is kept. It is replaced the next time you clean a page. You can clear it any time with the clear button at the end of the reader page. Removing the extension removes everything it saved.
- Nothing is sent to us or to any third party. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking in Article Light.
Permissions and why each one exists
- activeTab: lets the extension read the one page you clicked on, only after you click. The access ends when you leave the page.
- scripting: lets the extension run its article extractor in that page, only after you click.
- storage: saves the extracted article and your reading settings on your device only.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Because nothing is collected, a change here would only describe how the extension works on your device.
